About the Doctor

Dr. Raymond Tropeano

Licensed Chiropractor Certified Acupuncture 40+ Years Experience Long Beach, CA

Dr. Raymond Tropeano has been part of Long Beach for more than four decades. Since opening Village Health Center in 1984, he's treated generations of families — people who came in skeptical about chiropractic and left with less pain, better movement, and a new way of thinking about their health.

He completed his chiropractic training with a focus on the musculoskeletal system and went on to add acupuncture certification to broaden what he could offer patients. Over the years, he integrated massage therapy and assisted stretching into the clinic's model — not as add-ons, but as core tools in a genuinely holistic treatment approach.

What patients notice first is that Dr. Tropeano listens. He's not rushing to the next room. He wants to understand what hurts, how long it's been hurting, and what you've already tried. That thoroughness is what 40 years of practice looks like.

If you've been told to "just rest it" or you've hit a wall with other treatments, this is the kind of clinic worth trying. Dr. T has seen it before — and he has a good sense of what actually helps.

Our Philosophy

Why We Treat the Whole Person

Pain rarely has a single cause. A pinched nerve is often connected to tight muscles, poor movement patterns, and chronic stress. That's why Village Health Center brings four disciplines together under one roof — so your care isn't fragmented across different offices.

Chiropractic Adjustments

At the core of what we do. Precise spinal manipulation to restore alignment, reduce nerve pressure, and give your body room to heal itself. Dr. Tropeano has performed thousands of adjustments and knows when to be firm and when to be gentle.

Therapeutic Massage

Tight muscles guard injured joints — and that guarding creates new pain. Our massage therapy addresses the soft tissue surrounding a problem area, improving circulation and releasing the holding patterns that keep your body stuck. It works best alongside chiropractic, not instead of it.

Acupuncture

Dr. Tropeano added acupuncture to the practice because it reaches pain that chiropractic and massage alone can't always address — chronic headaches, nerve pain, inflammation. Fine needles placed at specific points shift the body's pain signaling and support faster recovery. Many patients notice results within two or three sessions.

Assisted Stretching

Mobility loss is one of the first things patients stop noticing — until it's gone enough to cause pain. Our assisted stretching protocol targets the muscle groups and connective tissue that limit your range of motion. We do the work with you, not just show you exercises. The goal is lasting flexibility, not a temporary fix.

"We don't pick one tool and use it on everyone. We look at what's driving your pain and bring in whatever combination of care actually addresses it. That's what four disciplines in one clinic makes possible."
